This clinic
Pure Wellness Middletown
708 Ash Blvd, Middletown, DE 19709. This is Ash Boulevard off Route 301 — not Main Street Middletown, not Stanton Christiana Road, and not a shockwave clinic.

Pure Wellness of Middletown opened in April 2018 off Route 301 South on Ash Boulevard. The clinic specializes in chiropractic care, massage therapy, and injury rehabilitation — including auto accidents, work injuries, and everyday spinal pain.
Dr. Todd Richardson is known across Delaware for personal-injury and rehabilitation work, including whiplash and extremity complaints. Dr. Ken Decker also sees patients here, connecting Middletown to the longer Pure Wellness history in Smyrna.
Growing Middletown means more commuting, more youth sports, and more desk-from-home necks. This office is built for that load.
Established April 2018. Opened off Route 301 South on Ash Boulevard.
Auto-accident patients, work-injury cases, growing families in Middletown’s new neighborhoods, and Townsend/Odessa residents who want care close to home.
What is available in this building is chiropractic, massage, spinal decompression, and injury rehab. Shockwave is at Newark, Wilmington, and Smyrna — not here. That list is deliberately specific — Pure Wellness offices are not identical, and if your exam points to a therapy we do not have here we will tell you which clinic does rather than substituting something close enough.
The rest of Pure Wellness is at purewellchiro.com. The other four offices are in the footer.
Before your first visit
What actually happens when you walk in
Your first appointment here runs 60 to 90 minutes, and most of that is not treatment. It is history, orthopedic and neurological testing, measured range of motion, and a hands-on examination — because “my back hurts” describes a facet joint that has stopped gliding, a disc pressing on a nerve root, a sacroiliac joint carrying uneven load, and a muscle guarding an old injury equally well, and those four do not get the same treatment.
At the end of it you get a plain explanation of what the exam found and what we propose to do about it, including roughly how many visits we expect it to take. If the findings point somewhere outside chiropractic — imaging, a physician, an emergency department — you will hear that instead. Referring out is part of an honest exam, not a failure of one.
Bring photo ID and your insurance card. If you have had recent imaging, bring the report or the disc. If the problem started with a car crash or an injury at work, say so when you book: those visits are documented to a different standard and need more time on the schedule than a routine first appointment.
Follow-up visits are much shorter than the first one. That matters more than it sounds, because chiropractic works on frequency rather than on one dramatic session — the clinic you can realistically get to two or three times in a bad week is the clinic that will help you most.
Getting here and parking
We are at 708 Ash Boulevard in Middletown, just off Route 301 South near Middletown-Warwick Road. This is not the Newark office and not a suite inside a hospital.
Park in the lot beside the building. First visits run 60–90 minutes. Townsend, Odessa, and St. Georges patients should book here instead of driving to Stanton Christiana.
If the building numbering is confusing on arrival, call (302) 449-0149 from the lot rather than circling. The front desk knows exactly which door people miss.

Who you will see
Dr. Ken Decker, D.C.; Dr. Todd A. Richardson, D.C.. Having more than one doctor in the building means a treatment plan does not stall when one of them is out, and it means you can be matched to the technique your case actually calls for rather than the only one on offer.
Results we publish
This office has 216 treatment outcomes recorded on ChiropracticResults.com, an independent register that logs the condition treated, the pain score at intake, and the score at discharge. Across those documented cases the average improvement is 93%, with pain moving from 7.6/10 to 1.3/10.
Averages describe other people’s care and are not a promise about yours. We publish them because a number you can check on a site we do not control is worth more than an adjective we picked ourselves.

Questions about Middletown
Is the Middletown clinic on Main Street?
No. We are on Ash Boulevard off Route 301 South, near Middletown-Warwick Road. Call (302) 449-0149 if you are using a GPS pin that still shows an older address.
Do you treat auto accidents in Middletown?
Yes. This office is built around injury rehabilitation — auto accidents, work injuries, and everyday spinal pain. Dr. Todd Richardson sees a large share of those cases here.
Is shockwave available in Middletown?
No. Shockwave is at Newark, Wilmington, and Smyrna. Middletown focuses on chiropractic, massage, and injury rehab. We will send you to a sister office only if that tool is the right next step.
